I used this setup on an interview I filmed recently. I am using an Opteka X-Grip MKIII mounted on my tripod, with the car monitor attached to the grip. The camera is able to be mounted on top of the grip for elevation. This setup also allows me to easily attach, with a rubber band, the monitor battery to the rig where the camera would normally go. The monitor was invaluable to me while setting up the room, and the lighting before my interviewees came into the room. Note also the backup battery connected to my camera sitting on the dresser. This allowed me to use my camera all day without worrying about my camera's battery life.
